Mia
A fun game with many names related to Liar's dice, an apt name considering the focus on bluffing.
Two dice - Two or more players.
Mia can be played by two or more players. Players roll two dice at a time, concealing the result from the others. After rolling, the active player declares their result to the next player, but it must be a higher score than the previous roll. If you rolled a lower scoring combination, you have to bluff your way through the round. The player starting the round can obviously declare any value they see fit.
Believe it or not
After the declaration of scores, the next player must decide if they believe the result. In case they do, the game goes on and they roll the dice next. If they don't, the previous player MUST reveal their dice. The score of the dice is subtracted from the loser's total.
Scoring
The highest of the two dice is multiplied by 10, and the lower die's value is added to create the score. For example, if we rolled a 5 and a 2, the score would be 52. Doubles are a Mia, and the highest score possible is 21. Here's a list of all possible scores in order: 31; 32; 41; 42; 43; 51; 52; 53; 54; 61; 62; 63; 64; 65; 1st Mia; 2nd Mia; 3rd Mia; 4th Mia; 5th Mia; 6th Mia; 21.
Roll higher or lie!
This also could be the name of this deservedly popular game. Always rolling higher (or equal) or lying works really well in bigger groups, but two can play as well. We can play it at home, in a pub, out in nature. We can bet in matchsticks, a round of drinks or even cash. A variant of the game exists where each player has a number (we usually do 5) lives represented by matchsticks, losing one each time they lose. Happy gaming!
